Food safety and control is a subject that concerns the whole world. The Nordic Council of Ministers, which is the body of co-operation between the five Nordic countries (Finland, Denmark, Iceland, Norway and Sweden) together with China will focus on the challenges and solutions for food safety at a Nordic-Chinese food safety event at the Nordic Lighthouse in Shanghai on August 30th 2010.

Key people from the Nordic countries and China will meet to create a dialogue where sharing knowledge about food safety initiatives in the two parts of the world will be the central issue. Speakers include Mr Henrik Høegh, Denmark’s minister of food, agriculture and fisheries, Ms Sirkka Liisa-Anttila, Finland’s minister of agriculture and forestry and Mr Pu Changcheng, vice minister of AQSIQ, the Chinese General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine.

The lunch for the participants of the event is prepared by three Nordic top chefs:

• Jesper Witt Paustian (Denmark)
