The Enduring Designs of Josef Frank
As an interior designer Frank was a firm believer in the importance of both comfort and whimsy. He eschewed the radical minimalism of Bauhaus furniture in favor of curves and color, saying in a lecture, “No hard corners: humans are soft and shapes should be too.”
A selection of textile and furniture designs of Josef Frank is displayed in the exhibition "The Enduring Designs of Josef Frank". The exhibition is supported by Svenskt Tenn, which have lent all objects on display.

Artist Talk with Floral Designer Gunnar Kaj
Kaj has designed the Floral Art at the last thirteen Nobel Prize banquets in a row in the Stockholm City Hall. He has many other prestigious commissions in his portfolio. In 2008 he designed the Swedish Christmas stamps. Kaj has had several noted flower exhibitions among others at the Drottningholm Castle, home to the Swedish Royal family. He is a popular lecturer and teaches workshops and courses for artists.

Sara Marielle, Risten Anine, og Inger Biret Gaup, som er samiske søstre fra Kautokeino i Nordnorge, har joiket siden deres tidlige barndom. De lærte at joike af deres far og andre slægtninge, og nu giver de joiken videre til den næste generation via workshops og undervisning. Danish National Girls’ Choir
Since its founding in 1938, the Danish National Girls’ Choir has been synonymous with Danish song and the pure Nordic sound. Every year the choir sings more than 60 concerts in Denmark and is always met with great interest in full churches and concert halls. The choir tradition in Denmark is very strong, going back several centuries. This choir, which is considered one of the best girls’ choirs in the world, combines old song traditions with new music, always working to develop the choir tradition exploring the special sound of young girls’ voices. Through a strong focus on educating children and youth in the choir tradition, this elite ensemble covers a broad repertoire encompassing Grundtvig’s hymns, modern compositions, and pop songs without losing its musical spark and infectious enthusiasm.

Swedish/Senegalese couple Sousou & Maher Cissoko share a destiny shaped by music. Sousou grew up in southern Sweden and fell in love with the kora, a West African stringed instrument, when her father started playing with the Gambian griot Alagie Mbye at an early stage. Maher Cissoko was born into a well-known griot family from Casamance, Senegal, and learned to play the kora at an early age.
Together they will share their musical story at Embassy of Sweden, while performing selected pieces from their repertoire.
