The treaty pages are intended for everyone: citizens, politicians, decision-makers, civil servants, the media and anyone else who is interested in knowing more about Nordic agreements and treaties.
These pages contain texts of agreements on treaties concluded between the Nordic countries. In many cases they have been developed within the framework of the Nordic Council of Ministers' activities in the various councils of ministers.
The treaty pages on norden.org also include other decisions, such as declarations showing how Nordic co-operation will look in the future. Most of these are multilateral agreements.
The pages also contain a number of texts from treaties (or links to treaties on other websites) that contain important information for understanding the frameworks within which Nordic co-operation operates. They include the EC/EU treaties, the EEA Agreement and the Schengen Agreement.
There are also links to the Nordic countries' units for treaty law. This allows anybody who is interested to immerse themselves in aspects of international law that are of significance to individual countries and to Nordic co-operation.
The sole purpose of publishing agreements on www.norden.org is to inform.
The treaty pages are intended for everyone: citizens, politicians, decision-makers, civil servants, the media and anyone else who is interested in knowing more about Nordic agreements and treaties.
The most obvious forms of agreement are the so-called conventions, agreements and resolutions, but the website also includes declarations and documents that form the basis for current and future Nordic co-operation.
For information on individual countries' agreements please visit the websites of foreign ministries in Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden all of which have units for treaty law.
United Nations Treaty Collections is also a useful resource for information on international agreements, including those of the Nordic countries.
