Multiculture and immigrants, transition between educational stages

Immigration, cultural diversity and education of immigrants are topical themes in all the Nordic countries. These themes will be discussed at a seminar on good Nordic practice, in particular the question of transition between educational stages and immigrant participation in education. Nordic Competence Project How can education help society meet its challenges, make use of opportunities and create changes?

Delegates will be sent the draft report in advance on how education can help deal with changes in society and working life based on examples from all the Nordic countries. A group of Nordic researchers will present their results at the seminar and enter into dialogue with the delegates who will be able to influence the result.

The Fourth Nordic Conference on Adult Learning

OBS! The workshop has been moved to the Nordic Council of Ministers' Secretariat, Ved Stranden 18, Copenhagen. We are pleased to invite you to a workshop on 8 April 2011 in Copenhagen to identify the need for information and communication about Nordic co-operation in the research and education, and the social and health care sectors. The basis for this is that a great deal of good and relevant work is being done within Nordic co-operation but that this is altogether too little known within the Nordic Region. This fact is unsatisfactory and needs to be addressed.

Course - Flexicurity and Occupational Health

Flexicurity is an abbreviation of flexibility and security indicating that they are not contradictions, but can be mutually supportive. At the workplace level, occupational health and safety is to be part of the flexicurity arrangements. The course presents Danish/Nordic and Dutch flexicurity cases and discusses roadmaps to flexicurity.
