Apply for Funding

Funding from Nordgen
The purpose of the funding from the Nordic Genetic Resource Centre (NordGen) is to expand co-operation between the Nordic countries with the help of further education and exchanges of experiences and to increase the participants' knowledge of plant production. The outcome does not have to be mutual. To be eligible for funding, the employer must pay a corresponding amount and help cover the costs.
Grants from NordForsk for seed-corn funding
NordForsk provides seed-corn funding to research environments in the Nordic Region and the Baltic countries in order to support outstanding research at an early stage. The intention is to identify and strengthen promising academic initiatives that may later develop into outstanding research results at elite level. Relatively little funding is required to facilitate the development of new ideas until they can be promoted elsewhere. Research environments in the Nordic Region and the Baltic countries are eligible to apply. To be eligible for funding, projects must involve participants from a minimum of either three Nordic countries, or two Nordic and one Baltic.
Grants from the Nordic Council of Ministers under the Nordic strategy for sustainable development 2009–2012
The Nordic Council of Ministers has granted funding for projects which contribute to the implementation of the Nordic strategy for sustainable development in climate and renewable energy; sustainable production and consumption; the welfare society; and education and research, public participation and local sustainability strategies. There will be an external call for project funding in 2012.
Project funding from the Nordic Joint Committee for Agricultural Research
The Nordic Joint Committee for Agricultural Research initiates and funds joint Nordic research projects of high quality in the agricultural sphere. Applications for project funding for research-related activities are welcome, for example, for seminars and forming networks. At least three Nordic countries must be involved for a project to be eligible for funding.
The Nordic Forest Research Co-operation Committee's funding scheme
The Nordic Forest Research Co-operation Committee (SNS) funds research related to forestry, forests and other wooded areas (landscapes, parks, urban trees and marginal land), the utilisation of wood and other forest products, as well as the non-commercial values of the forests. The fund provides support for co-operation involving at least three Nordic countries. The project may also include countries in the Nordic Region's Adjacent Areas.
