How do we remove obstacles to freedom of movement in the Nordic region?

The Nordic Council of Ministers' information service, Hello Norden, invites to a debate on freedom of movement in the Nordic countries. Hello Norden present the discussion paper "The story of Jyrki and Jóhanna", a story about one family's encounter with a number of the problems faced by Nordic citizens when they move across borders in the Nordic region. Hello Norden has invited the Nordic Council's party groups to a debate based on the discussion paper. Which obstacles to freedom of movement are important to solve and how do we do it?
Seminar: Human rights in the Baltic Sea region

The Nordic Youth Council (NYC) and the Nordic Youth Association (FNUF) arrange a seminar on human rights in the Baltic region. Human rights will be discussed especially from three different perspectives: LGBTQ rights, trafficking, and workers rights in the labour market. The seminar is open to the public and free of charge.
Nordic Competence Project How can education help society meet its challenges, make use of opportunities and create changes?

Delegates will be sent the draft report in advance on how education can help deal with changes in society and working life based on examples from all the Nordic countries. A group of Nordic researchers will present their results at the seminar and enter into dialogue with the delegates who will be able to influence the result.

Nordiska ministerrådet för arbetsliv och Nordiska ministerrådet för utbildning och forskning genomförde hösten 2010 en kartläggning och analys om de nordiska ländernas åtgärder i bekämpandet av ungdomsarbetslösheten. Detta seminarium är en uppföljning av denna rapport. Seminariet är avsett för ca 70 experter från arbets- och utbildningsförvaltningar i de nordiska länderna och självstyrande områden samt nordiska ungdomsforskare.

SkanKomp: Scandinavian Competency Development

Course - Flexicurity and Occupational Health

Flexicurity is an abbreviation of flexibility and security indicating that they are not contradictions, but can be mutually supportive. At the workplace level, occupational health and safety is to be part of the flexicurity arrangements. The course presents Danish/Nordic and Dutch flexicurity cases and discusses roadmaps to flexicurity.
Nordic conference on efforts for youth unemployment

As many older people are leaving the labour market there is a need for everyone to work. This applies to well functioning young people, but also to the growing number of young who have mental problems, and who run the risk of being permanently on the receiving end of public benefits.
