Culture, Education and Training Committee
The Nordic Council Culture and Education Committee deals with issues and is responsible for the development of political initiatives in culture and education, including matters of language co-operation, new media, competence development and innovation in education.
Nordic Council of Ministers for Education and Research (MR-U)
The Nordic governments' co-operation in the field of research and education is led by the Nordic ministers of education and research, MR-U. The council of ministers works to ensure that the Nordic Region maintains a leading position the field of knowledge and competencies.
Nordic Culture Fund
The aim of the Nordic Culture Fund is to support a broad spectrum of cultural cooperations between the Nordic countries.
Nordic Culture Point
Nordic Culture Point is a strong and innovative Nordic cultural player active throughout the Nordic region. Nordic Culture Point, which began operations in its current form as of 1.1.2012, results from the fusion of The Nordic Institute in Finland (Nifin) and the former Nordic Culture Point. The new institute is a central Nordic meeting point located in Finland. It spreads knowledge of and interest in the Nordic region, and administers the Nordic Council of Ministers’ two cultural funding programmes. Additionally, the institute provides a point of contact for Nordic cultural cooperation and information about that cooperation in the Nordic region and beyond. Nordic Culture Point's director, is Gun Oker-Blom, and the institute has offices in central Helsinki and Suomenlinna. The institute is a Nordic Council of Ministers institution.
Nordic Language Co-ordination (NOSK)
Nordic Language Co-ordination (NOSK) was established as part of the new organisation of co-operation in the Nordic languages in 2009. The division consists of a manager, a part-time project secretary and the language board's secretary part-time. The workplace is the Danish Language Board (Dansk Sprognævn (DSN)).
Nordisk Sprogkampagne
Unge i Norden har sværere og sværere ved at forstå hinandens sprog, trods øget aktivitet på tværs af grænserne. Det er en udfordring som Nordisk Ministerråd vil arbejde med. Det sker blandt andet ved at iværksætte en sprogkampagne med fokus på at styrke nordiske børn og unges forståelse af dansk, norsk og svensk.
Programme for Language Classes
Programme for Language Classes consists of courses offered by Nordspråk, Nordkurs and the Nordiske Perler.
