The UN Commission on Sustainable Development, CSD, arranged its seventeenth session at the UN Headquarters in New York, 4 May to 15 May 2009. The conference focused on the following thematic issues – Africa, agriculture, drought & desertification, land and rural development. The Nordic Council of Ministers hosted an event at this 17th CSD-session in New York.

Project development across the North Atlantic

NORA sees great untapped opportunities in co-operation projects including partners from the Nordic Region's western neighbouring regions, amongst others, Canada. Therefore, NORA invites potential project partners form the whole North Atlantic Region to a conference and project development seminars in Reykjavík on 18-19 May. The focus will be on sustainable energy solutions in scarcely populated areas and innovations in the aquaculture sector.

CanNord 2011- Canada and Nordics Sustainable Solutions for Future Cities

Conference on green opportunities and solutions in Canada and the Nordic region. The focus will be on sustainable transport, energy and housing. The event is hosted by Embassies and Trade Commissions of Sweden, Norway and Denmark in co-operation with the Nordic Council of Ministries and City of Toronto.
