The welfare model of the future, opportunities for increased participation

Seminar: Value for money? Quality assurance and monitoring the conditions for children growing up in the Nordic service system.

Under the auspices of the Nordic Centre for Welfare and Social Issues, the focus of the seminar will be the organization and financing of social care, children and youth with special needs and the development of "best practice" in social care and services for children. The target groups are the Nordic authorities responsible for the organisation and supervision of public services for children.

Culture for Life 2011 - Nordic conference on culture, health and quality of life

The Moderator of the meeting is TV host Clement Kjergaard. The meeting is being co-organised by the Nordic Council and the Danish Chamber of Commerce and will take place in the "Opinion Ministry" in Kampeløkken Harbour, Allinge on Bornholm.
Nordic network meeting on violence in close relationships and violence against women

Nordic Festival in Tartu

Six members of the "Nordic Chain" meet every year in one of the member towns. In 2009 that town was Uppsala, and now the town of Tartu will host the festival. The festival is a meeting place for discussion on what the Northern Region can offer in the way of challenges, ideas and experiences.

OBS! The workshop has been moved to the Nordic Council of Ministers' Secretariat, Ved Stranden 18, Copenhagen. We are pleased to invite you to a workshop on 8 April 2011 in Copenhagen to identify the need for information and communication about Nordic co-operation in the research and education, and the social and health care sectors. The basis for this is that a great deal of good and relevant work is being done within Nordic co-operation but that this is altogether too little known within the Nordic Region. This fact is unsatisfactory and needs to be addressed.

Debate: The future welfare in Sweden and Finland
