The Nordic logo

A strong visual profile is an important part of the identity of Nordic co-operation. The Nordic trademark consists of two elements: The swan symbol and the logotype “norden”.

Swan symbol

The Swan symbol is a stylised white swan with eight quills in a blue circle. The eight quills represents the five Nordic countries, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden and the three autonomous territories the Faroe Islands, Greenland and Åland. The swan symbol is encircled by a white ring.

The swan symbol was designed by the Finnish artist Kyösti Varis.

Logotype ”norden”

"norden" is the international common designation for Nordic co-operation, and, together with the Swan symbol, makes up the logotype.

The logotype “norden” was designed by Due Design AS and projects a contemporary, simple and sturdy image.
