Media interest for what is happening across the Kvarken and in the northern areas of the Region have had a low priority in the media world for a long time. Communication and lack of natural cross-border contacts between journalists and decision-makers mean there is a great need to create better conditions to give a picture of the Nordic countries in Europe too. The aim of the media conference is to become better at communications in the Region, increase Nordic media co-operation with a focus on the region around Kvarken and the northern parts of the Nordic Region. Increase contacts between journalists in the different countries, increase co-operation across language barriers.
