Employment procedure

The Nordic Council of Ministers' Secretariat advertises all job vacancies on its internet pages, as well as in selected newspapers in the individual Nordic countries. In addition, the job will be advertised on various internet sites that we work with. Application for the job must be made on our electronic application form. With the exception of student workers we do not accept unsolicited applications.

When applying for a job at the Nordic Council of Ministers you must first complete our electronic application form. Once you have done this, we will automatically send you confirmation of receipt.

After the application deadline has passed, all job applications are carefully looked at, and the relevant candidates are called in for an interview. The interviews always take place in Copenhagen, and the Nordic Council of Ministers pays travel expenses for applicants from the other Nordic countries.

The aim of the actual interview is to clarify your expectations of the job itself and our expectations of you as a candidate. We will tell you about the organisation and about the actual job. We place great value on hearing from you about your reasons for applying to work with us, and that you expand on the information from your application form.

If you are amongst the chosen candidates, we will contact the referees you have provided, including your former employers. This will, naturally, only be after agreement with you. After we have offered the job to the right candidate, the candidates who have attended an interview will always receive a verbal refusal giving the reasons for the decision. Other candidates will receive a refusal in writing.
