A hundred years and half the kingdom
This year is the centenary for the dissolution of the union between Norway and Sweden. A commemorative volume ‘A hundred years and half the kingdom’ published by Aschehoug contains a number of articles on the relationship between Norway and Denmark, which were united until 1814.
Among the writers are Jørn Lund, Tor Boman Larsen, Rasmus Dahlberg, Leni Stålvik, Erik Skyum Nielsen, Monna Dithmer, Lars Saabye Christensen and Else Marie Bukdahl.
The two editors are Anders Beyer and Louise Beck. Anders Beyer is cand. phil in musicology and has taught as an external lecturer at Copenhagen University. He is the artistic director of the Athelas Sinfonietta Copenhagen, and is the editor-in-chief of Danish Music Review and Nordic Sounds.
Louise Beck is a scenographer, trained at the Wimbledon School of Art in London. She was responsible for one of the City of Culture’s greatest successes, the opera, Gudrun’s 4th Song. The music for the opera has just been awarded the Nordic Council’s Music Prize.
