The Nordic countries have made strategic political efforts to promote gender equality by engaging women and girls in science, technology, training and leadership positions. At a panel event on March 12th in New York the Nordic ministers for gender equality present and discuss national policies and programmes related to the topic.
UN agencies, governments and civil society have in recent years ingreasingly stressed the need to break down gender stereotypes in education and training as an imperative to empower women and for achieving gender equality in the labour market. During the yearly UN session of the Comission of the Status of Women, The Nordic Council of Ministers arrange the panel event
