The DKK 350,000 Nordic Council Nature and Environment Prize will be awarded for the sixteenth time in 2010. The theme will be sustainable asset management.

The prize will be awarded to a Nordic individual, company, organisation or medium, which has managed in an exemplary way to directly or indirectly make an impact on the financial markets, the asset management industry, banks or consultants, and encouraged them to adopt a long-term perspective and integrate sustainability into their asset management.

Nominations must be submitted to the Secretariat for the Danish Delegation to the Nordic Council by 12 noon on Friday 11 December 2009. Nomination forms can be downloaded from the Nordic Council's website.

The procedure for the prize has changed. From 2010, the winner will be announced in May instead of the autumn.

The Nature and Environment Prize is is one of four awarded by the Nordic Council – the others are for literature, film and music. The 2009 prize went to the Swedish school project "Rain or Shine (“I Ur och Skur”).
