Researchers, institutions, industrial companies and organisations involved in promoting innovation, and the export of Nordic environmental technology have all been invited to submit tenders.

Nordic environmental technology has to be clean, useful and competitive. The idea behind this particular tendering process is to make Nordic expertise commercially viable.

The initiative is necessary because barriers do exist to innovation and to the export of environmental technology but they can be overcome and competitive solutions found that will benefit the global environment. The global market for environmental technology is believed to be €550 billion p.a., with Nordic exports totalling approx. €11 billion.NICe has identified considerable potential for increasing that amount, e.g. through establishing clusters to work on improvements.
