The European Humanities University Trust Fund (TF EHU) now has its own website, featuring information about to donate to EHU and about the situation in Belarus.

European Humanities University (EHU) is a Belarussian university in exile in Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania. EHU TF is the university's most important source of funding, and provides Belarussian students with access to higher education irrespective of their political views.

The new website tells potential donors how to support EHU and provides up-to-date coverage of the situation in Belarus.

The purpose of the EHU TF is to raise funds from donors and administer them while the university is located in Vilnius, and, in the longer term, to make EHU financially independent. EHU TF is run by the Nordic Council of Ministers.

European Humanities University opened in Minsk, the capital of Belarus, in 1992, was closed by the authorities in 2004 and relocated to Vilnius the following year.

EHU is the only Belarussian university that offers an education based on academic freedom. It is also the only private university in Belarus' history and has maintained its autonomy in the face of government pressure.

The Nordic Council of Ministers and the European Commission have supported EHU in Vilnius since 2005. The Council's support is an important part of its international commitment to promoting core Nordic core values such as democracy and free speech.
