Honorary Doctorate for services to freedom of speech

The Nordic Information Centre for Media and Communication Research (NORDICOM) is a knowledge centre in the field of media and communication research as well as the development of the media in the Nordic countries. It is based at the University of Gothenburg, and Ulla Carlsson has worked there for many years.

The title of Honorary Doctor was conferred on Ulla Carlsson by the University of Tampere “for exceptional contributions to the advancement of media scholarship in the Nordic Region and beyond, as well as, for extraordinary efforts to build the institutional infrastructure to achieve that”.

The honour serves as a reward for hard and successful work to promote freedom of speech, and Ulla is both proud and pleased to be the recipient.
