"Hugely successful co-operation!"
"Iceland in art, literature and music" was the heading for co-operation between the Nordic Information Offices in Akureyri on Iceland and in Flensburg in Germany. The tour started at the North Atlantic Quay in Copenhagen before moving on to Horsens, Kiel and Flensburg.
"After a hugely successful tour of Denmark and Flensburg with the group Park Project and the author Einar Kárason from Iceland, it feels good to look back with pleasure on such a lovely piece of Nordic co-operation. The events were enthusiastically received and it feels good to meet Danes who are more Icelandic than I am!" said Maria Jónsdóttir, head of the Nordic Information Office in Akureyri.
"They really are enthusiasts. Take Vibeke Nørgaard Nielsen in Nim for example. She is a prime example. She knows the Icelandic sagas, our authors, painters, the country, etc., etc. It was a great pleasure to meet her and hear how much interest she has managed to generate in the Horsens area by organising trips to Iceland as well as Icelandic evenings in collaboration with Horsens library and other organisations in the area. I must say, the tour really opened my eyes up to just how much can be done provided the interest is there."
"We had no less than 130 people at our theme day in Flensburg," said Anette Jensen, manager of the Information Office in Flensburg, clearly pleased with the way things had gone.
