Who will benefit from the DKK 3 million that the Nordic Culture Fund has earmarked for new digital art and culture in the Nordic Region? Twenty-one projects are being considered. The one chosen will be selected for the way in which it develops art, culture and technology in a Nordic context.

Under the heading DIGITAL 2015–2016, Nordic Cultural Event of the Year, the Nordic Culture Fund has earmarked DKK 3 million to boost digital art and culture in the Nordic countries.

“This is the first time that millions in Nordic culture funding has gone to boosting digital arts and culture in the Region,” says Director Karen Bue.
“Digital art and culture is a rapidly developing field. And since the whole purpose of the Fund is to support Nordic cultural co-operation, it’s important that we get involved in new areas. We want to provide a financial springboard for new generations of funding applicants.”

The five members of the jury have just started to evaluate the 21 applications submitted from all of the Nordic countries. The recipient of the DKK 3 million will be announced on 3 June 2014. As per the Fund’s guidelines, the grant will go to a partnership between artists, creatives and others involved in digital development and new media in the Nordic Region.

The money will enable the project team to develop and manage a Nordic project that provides new knowledge, competences and professional networks, and to enhance the way that they work.
