Minority and small communities
The Nordic Information Office in Southern Jutland / South Schleswig is celebrating its 10 year anniversary with a huge festive event on 17 November in Flensborg which will focus on Nordic minorities and small communities.
The day will start with a talk by headmaster Jørgen Kühl, who will examine in particular the question of national minorities and indigenous peoples in the Nordic countries. The next speaker will be the Finland-Swedish author, Lars Sund, who was nominated for the Nordic Council Literature Prize in 2004. Later in the day a large exhibition will be opened by Iceland’s most well-know artist Tolli (Thórlakur Kristinsson). The evening will close with a concert by Tolli’s brother, Bubbi Morthens. Bubbi Morthens is one of the best selling Icelandic musicians.
Anette Jensen, Nordic Information Office will bid welcome to the event in Flensborghus, Norderstr. 76, at 14.00 followed by a short greeting from Anke Spoorendonk, South Schleswig Voter Federation. The opening of the exhibition will take place at the Danish Library (Dansk Centralbibliotek), Norderstr. 59, Flensborg. Lars Sund and Bubbi Morthens will tour Denmark and South Schleswig in conjunction with the event.
