New first lady of cultural co-operation in Greenland
Leise Johnsen will take over as the new director of the Nordic Institute in Greenland (NAPA) on 15 February, with the clear ambition of drawing attention to the diversity of cultural life in the country.

"The world points to Greenland. More than ever, Greenland needs to raise its profile in the new globalised world, demonstrate its amazing values, and serve as a breeding ground for innovation, development and growth," Johnsen said.
Years of work on Greenland's cultural history will stand her in good stead to use the country's cultural heritage as a springboard and demonstrate the contemporary relevance of culture to people in Greenland, in the Nordic Region and in the globalised world.
One of Johnsen's goals is to make NAPA into an attractive partner for multi-sectoral Nordic co-operation on culture. The experienced director also wants to improve the service NAPA provides to its partners and to applicants.
NAPA, a Nordic Council of Ministers' institution, opened in 1987. Its mission is to help develop, support and stimulate cultural life in Greenland, with the emphasis on children's and youth culture. NAPA organises and runs cultural projects involving Greenlandic and Nordic artists for local authorities in Greenland and arranges tours to other Nordic countries.

Grønlandsk kultursamarbejde får ny førstedame
Leise Johnsen tiltræder 15. februar som ny direktør for Nordens institut i Grønland NAPA. with the clear ambition of drawing attention to the diversity of cultural life in the country.
- Verden peger på Grønland. Mere end nogensinde skal Grønland profilere sig i forhold til den globale verden, vise landets fantastiske værdier og derigennem skabe grobund for nytænkning, udvikling og vækst, udtaler Leise Johnsen i forbindelse med sin udnævnelse.
Gennem sit mangeårige kendskab og arbejde med Grønlands kulturhistorie vil Leise Johnsen bruge den store grønlandske kulturarv som springbræt og arbejde for kulturens nutidige relevans for mennesker i Grønland, Norden og den globale verden.
Blandt Leise Johnsens ambitioner er ønsket om at synliggøre NAPA som en attraktiv aktør i det tværgående nordiske kultursamarbejde. Samtidigt vil den erfarne direktør også styrke instituttets servicering af samarbejdspartnere og ansøgere.
Nordens institut i Grønland / NAPA er en kulturinstitution under Nordisk Ministerråd. Instituttet blev åbnet i 1987. Dets opgave er at være med til at udvikle, støtte og stimulere det grønlandske kulturliv, med vægt på børn og unges kultur. NAPA producerer og tilbyder kulturelle projekter med grønlandske og nordiske artister - både til kommunerne i Grønland og de øvrige nordiske lande ved turnéer.
