The new manager has extensive international experience, having lived and worked abroad for many years. She also has extensive experience of operational and strategic management of HR in large international organisations, including the UN's International Atomic Energy Agency and the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR), which has links to the UN and the World Bank.

The dynamic new manager intends to draw on her experience in Copenhagen.

"If the Nordic Council of Ministers and Nordic Council are to achieve the targets that the organisations have set themselves, it is important that the personnel department works as a partner in support of those objectives. It is imperative that the department is efficient and provides high-quality advice, for example," she explains.

Vennemoe's academic qualifications, an MSc in psychology and organisational psychology with supplementary social anthropology and project management from the University of Oslo, along with years of experience in an international environment, made her the ideal candidate to run the department.

"Unni Vennemoe's extensive international experience is the perfect match for an organisation like ours. The multicultural composition of the Secretariat places high demands on personnel management, so we are delighted to welcome Unni to the world of Nordic co-operation," says the Secretary General of the Nordic Council of Ministers, Halldór Ásgrímsson.
