The event will take place in the Nordic national pavilions and will include lectures and panel discussions from experts and leaders from the public and private sectors. Among the confirmed speakers are such experts as Bo Diczfalusy from IEA and Professor Jiang Kejun from the Energy Research Institute in China. Nordic ministers Karen Ellemann from Denmark and Jan Vapaavuori from Finland will also take part on the day.

"China is an important and growing player in the development of sustainable energy systems and technologies for the Nordic countries. New technology is being created fast and implemented at a rapidly increasing rate. To contribute and become involved in this key growth potential, the Nordic countries - Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden - must investigate the opportunities that strategic co-operation with China has to offer. This applies to both exchange of knowledge and collaboration with industry", says Anne Cathrine Gjærde, Director of Nordic Energy Research.

All parties stand to benefit from a reciprocal exchange of knowledge, development and networking in sustainable energy systems and technologies. The Nordic Council of Ministers aims to use the Nordic-Chinese Energy and Climate Day to demonstrate the skills and potential found in the Nordic countries, and to promote a process of further interaction between stakeholders in China and the Nordic countries.

Journalists are welcome to attend during the morning session at the Finnish pavilion between 9:00 and 11:30, which will include speeches by ministers and various experts.
