Nordic Climate Day again in 2010
The Nordic Council of Ministers has decided to repeat last year's Nordic Climate Day for school pupils in all five Nordic countries. It will once again be on 11 November. The climate has also been selected as a priority topic in the educational programme Nordplus, which runs in both the Nordic and Baltic countries.
As part of the common Nordic approach up to COP15, the Nordic Council of Ministers and the Nordic ministers of education organised an event for schools throughout the whole region.
This included, amongst other things, a large-scale SMS competition and a number of other events on 11 November, the Nordic Climate Day.
This year there will once again be focus on the climate with a campaign which will be launched after the summer holidays. It will culminate, like last year, in a common virtual lesson on 11 November.
Prior to the Climate Day 2009, the Council of Ministers produced a website which acts as a platform for inspiration and dissemination of knowledge between the Nordic countries - see more on klimanorden.org
On this website you can also subscribe to a newsletter where more details about the Nordic Climate Day will become available as the project progresses.
The Nordic exchange programme Nordplus is involved again this year as a partner in the Nordic Climate Day.
The deadline for applications for Nordplus is 1 March. The climate is one of the topics given priority consideration.
