The purpose of the visit is for the Nordic countries to focus on how the region, in times of globalisation, can be much better at integrating creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship into the Nordic educational systems.

The committee therefore wants to look closer at the teaching initiatives that the innovative educational institution Metropol is using to boost creativity and the creative urge in both the teachers and the students.

During the visit the MPs will hear about the different approaches Metropol uses to try to incorporate innovation and entrepreneurship in teacher training, for example, an introductory project based on social entrepreneurship in the first year.

The Nordic politicians will also have the opportunity to hear a former student teacher talk about practical experiences with innovation and creativity in teaching.

Speakers, including the sought-after adviser from the Confederation of Norwegian Enterprise in Telemark, Kerstin Laue, will talk about how business and schools can work in partnership for entrepreneurship in education.

On the basis of the visit, the Nordic Council will assess and decide whether policy recommendations and new initiatives can be presented to the Nordic governments, and whether they can contribute to further development and added value for the individual countries and for the region as a whole.
