Nordic visibility at COP15
Nordic co-operation will be both seen and heard at the COP15 climate summit, which started in Copenhagen today. Although the Nordic countries will negotiate separately, the Nordic Council of Ministers is making an indirect contribution to a successful outcome.
The Council of Ministers funds the Nordic COP15 Group, which consists of climate experts from all over the Region. The Group has produced analyses and reports on the issues being negotiated at the summit, and arranged meetings between different international climate negotiators.
Nordic co-operation on the climate is being presented at a joint exhibition stand in the Bella Center, the venue for COP15. Fifteen Nordic institutions have collaborated on the stand, which addresses themes such as the Arctic, research and green energy solutions.

The Council of Ministers is also organising and/or funding several fringe events during COP15.
Around 90 people involved in a range of activities comprise the Nordic Council of Ministers' delegation at the Bella Center, which will accommodate a total of nearly 15,000 people during the two-week conference.
The Council of Ministers will also take part, both as funder and exhibitor, in the COP15 fringe event Arctic Venue on the North Atlantic Quay.
Via the Nordic Culture Fund, the Nordic countries are also participating in the art project Rethink, part of the official COP15 culture programme.
Other COP15 projects funded by the Council of Ministers include Arctic-related exhibitions and films.
