Positive TV instead of sympathy
A prize will be awarded to the Nordic TV programme that has done the most to draw attention to the situation of people with disabilities. The winner will be announced at the Nordic democracy conference in the Danish parliament on 2 December.
Good TV programmes about and including people with disabilities do not publicise the idea that "it is a shame for people with disabilities”, they encourage commitment and provide a new perspective, according to Nordic Co-operation on Disability (NHR).
NHR has decided to award a prize to a Nordic programme or series, which publicises people with disabilities and issues relating to disability. The winner will be revealed on 2 December at the "Democracy for All” conference in the Danish parliament.
The winner will be chosen from 32 entries from the whole Nordic Region submitted by TV stations and disabled organisations and judged by a committee consisting of representatives of Nordic organisations for people with disabilities and of cultural organisations.
