Promotion of Nordic welfare design in China
Now the whole of China can see and experience for themselves how the Nordic region produces innovative welfare products, with the help of design and creative processes.
The eyes of the world are turned towards EXPO Shanghai 2010, and part of the attention is now focused on the exhibition "The Creative North". From 1-15 October you can see the Nordic countries' joint input to an exhibition on Nordic welfare design.
In the beautiful Nordic Lighthouse there will be a collection of illuminated lighthouses as unique examples of Nordic innovation and creativity. Every lighthouse tells its own story about a design that can improve life for citizens in the Nordic welfare society and in the rest of the world. This is Nordic welfare design and the Nordic comment to the "Better City, Better Life" theme and improvements for the future.
Through the globalisation project KreaNord, the Nordic Council of Ministers is exhibiting innovative and creative examples of the design products and services, and the processes that characterise the Nordic welfare model. This is the user-driven process for the development focus of the exhibition.
Visitors from both the business community and organisations in this area will be able to see and experience how we in the Nordic region are constantly improving our society through innovative design products, which help to safeguard the Nordic welfare model, where everyone should the opportunity to live a good and dignified life aided by new products.
The exhibition "The Creative North" will be launched in Shanghai in the period from 1 - 15 October. The purpose is to showcase the Nordic tradition of co-operation between industry and research in service design, welfare technology and function-enhancing disability aids. In this way the Nordic region is being profiled as a world centre for creative industries.
The official reception will take place on 11 October at 14.30 in the Nordic Lighthouse where the work of the Nordic creative industries will be introduced by Hanna Dora Masdottir from KreaNord and where, amongst other things, Claus Lønberg, Director of the Innovation Centre Denmark / Shanghai, and Tone Mørch, Director of the Nordic Centre for Welfare and Social Issues, will speak about innovative solutions for the Nordic welfare society.
