Secure jobs for young people in the future
The theme of the Nordic Youth Council’s annual Session from 29-31 October in Reykjavik will be young people and the job market.
"It is important for us in the NYC to put young people and the job market on the agenda because it is a key issue for all young people in the Nordic countries", says Minna Lindberg.

Iceland's Minister of Social Affairs and Health, Guðbjartur Hannesson, and Marcus Rantala, State Secretary from the Finnish Ministry of Education and Culture, will address the young politicians as part of the seminar on youth and the job market.
In addition, Malin Sahlén of the Confederation of Swedish Enterprise and Maria Ranta from the Finnish trade union Akava will both visit the NYC and give presentations on young people and the job market.
Halldór Ásgrímsson, Secretary General of the Nordic Council of Ministers, and Jan-Erik Enestam, Secretary General of the Nordic Council, will both give welcome speeches to the young people during the weekend.
And finally, the Session will offer a wide range of refreshing political debates when all the resolutions are discussed in plenary.
"I am looking forward to participating in the political discussions, listening to the speeches from the Minister of Social Affairs and representatives of industry and trade union organizations, and meeting my colleagues from the youth parties from the entire Nordic region", says Minna Lindberg, President of the Nordic Youth Council (NYC).
As is customary, the representatives of the Nordic youth parties meet a few days before the Nordic Council Session, which will take place in the Icelandic capital from 2 to 4 November.
