Rural and coastal development - The future challenges for the Region
The Nordic and Baltic Ministers responsible for Fisheries and Aquaculture, Agriculture, Food and Forestry had a meeting 7 November 2006 in order to follow up the decisions taken in the previous Ministerial meeting in 2003 and to provide further progress of the co-operation in the Nordic-Baltic Region.
Some of the topics discussed on the Ministerial meeting were rural and coastal development; bioenergy; management of seal stocks; strategic contingency plan for the control of exotic animal diseases or serious zoonoses; and genetic resources.
- Nordic-Baltic Ministerial Declaration on the grey seals in the Baltic Sea
- Declaration adopted in 2006 by the Nordic and Baltic Ministers responsible for Fisheries and Aquaculture, Agriculture, Food and Forestry. Aimed at addressing and stating recommendations for issues related to the grey seals in the Baltic Sea.
- Ministerial Declaration on Nordic and Baltic co-operation on genetic resources
- Declaration adopted by the Ministers of Fisheries, Agriculture, Food and Forestry of Nordic and Baltic countries in 2006. Conclusions of and recommendations for tackling issues related to plant genetic resources and climate change.
