Tax agreement with Uruguay

On Wednesday 14 December Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Iceland as well as Greenland and the Faroe Islands, signed an information-exchange agreement with Uruguay. The agreement is part of the Nordic countries' joint endeavour to put a stop to tax evasion and is the continuation of a project in the formal framework of the Nordic Council of Ministers.

The Nordic countries renew their shared commitment to combat climate change with a new emissions reductions programme, The Nordic Partnership Initiative supported by the countries along with the Nordic Council of Ministers. Nordiska rådet vill bekämpa matspill, som globalt sett medför samma utsläpp av växthusgaser som världens samlade transportsektor. Nordiska rådet beslutade därför på sitt möte den 3 november att dra igång det som kan bli upptakten till en större nordisk framstöt om matavfall. Det är i linje med de nordiska statsministrarnas önskan om att upprioritera samarbetet om avfallshantering i Norden.
