The Co-ordinating Committee for Nordic Studies Abroad works to promote language teaching in the Nordic countries, in Nordic culture and social conditions as well as to increase interest for the Nordic countries in foreign universities and in society in general. The Committee, a body under the Nordic Council of Ministers, gives an economic contribution to joint Nordic events initiated by teachers at the institutions.
The board is a collaborating body for the Councils for Research in the humanities and social sciences in Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden, which is responsible for humanistic and social science research.
The Expert Group Nordic Language Council focuses on consultancy, especially in regard to an improved language understanding for children and young people.
