Working Groups

Working Groups under the auspices of the Nordic Council of Ministers for the Environment (MR-M).
The Nordic working group for global climate negotiations (NOAK)
The group's overarching goal is to contribute to the adoption of a global climate agreement with binding and ambitious goals.
Nordic Waste Group (NWG)
The Nordic Waste Group works towards sustainable processing of waste products in the Nordic countries and Europe. An important element in this work is a joint Nordic contribution to EU legislation. Another focus area is the adaptation of EU legislation to the specific conditions applicable in the Nordic region.
Climate and Air Quality Group (KoL)
The Climate and Air Quality Group contributes to Nordic goals of limiting serious climate change and of preventing air pollution from damaging the environment or human health.
Nordic Chemical Group (NKG)
The Nordic Chemical Group's work supports a chemical policy whose overarching goal is sustainable development based on high-level health and environmental protection for both the present and future generations.
The Working Group on Environment and Economy (MEG)
The Working Group on Environment and Economy is a cross-sectoral group whose mandate is approved by both the environment sector and the finance sector of the Nordic Council of Ministers. The group's work relates to relevant environmental economic matters of common Nordic interest.
Working Group for Sustainable Consumption and Production (HKP)
The Working Group is a co-operation forum for the Environment, Business and Consumer sectors. The objectives of all the sectors are taken into consideration in the group's working programme. The aim of the group is to develop, co-ordinate and evaluate the necessary means of control in the work with sustainable consumption and production.
Working Group for Aquatic Ecosystem (AEG)
 
The Terrestrial Ecosystem Group (TEG)
The group has a broad mandate which covers the preservation and sustainable use of nature, biological diversity, landscape, cultural monuments and cultural environment as well as outdoor life.
