Funding and calls
Nordic and bi-lateral funding schemes and calls for projects. The list includes mainly funding and calls for projects from the Nordic Council, the Nordic Council of Ministers and other organisations under the auspices of council of ministers, but also other funding schemes with a focus on Nordic co-operation.
Nordic Innovation project funding
Nordic Innovation funds Nordic projects that boost innovation and competitiveness in the Nordic business sector and lead to commercial and sustainable development.
Grants from the Nordic Council of Ministers' Working Environment Committee
The Committee funds projects that focus on closer co-operation on the working environment between the Nordic countries. Key issues include how workplaces can improve their physical, psychological and social conditions; use staff resources in an effective and sustainable manner; promote gender equality and non-discrimination; and further develop the Nordic Region as an attractive place to work.
Grants from the Nordic Council of Ministers' Industrial Relations Committee
This funding is primarily designated for investigative studies and seminars on topical political subjects with a Nordic aim. The most important funding criterion is that the projects benefit the Nordic countries and the Faroe Islands, Greenland and Åland, and generate Nordic synergies.
Apply for funding from the Nordic Council of Ministers' Arctic Co-operation Programme
The Nordic Council of Ministers' Arctic Co-operation Programme has an annual budget of about DKK 8 million. Applications can be made for funds from the Arctic Co-operation Programme for the implementation of projects in the Arctic.
Nopef provides financing for feasibility studies
The specific aim of the fund is to strengthen the international competitiveness of Nordic enterprises by providing co-financing for feasibility studies that support the internationalisation of Nordic enterprises. Nopef finances feasibility studies for small and medium-sized Nordic enterprises for business set up in a country outside the EU and EFTA.
Grants from the Nordic Council of Ministers under the Nordic strategy for sustainable development 2009–2012
The Nordic Council of Ministers has granted funding for projects which contribute to the implementation of the Nordic strategy for sustainable development in climate and renewable energy; sustainable production and consumption; the welfare society; and education and research, public participation and local sustainability strategies. There will be an external call for project funding in 2012.
Funding from the Working Group for Sustainable Production and Consumption
The Working Group for Sustainable Production and Consumption (HKP) is a working group under the auspices of the Nordic Council of Ministers for the Environment. The group funds Nordic projects within its field of expertise based on annual priorities. The group is a cross-sectoral co-operative forum for the environment, business and consumer sectors. The overarching goal for the group is that consumption and production takes place in a way that improves the state of the environment and health, while ensuring effective and sustainable use of resources.
Grants from the Nordic Council of Ministers' Labour Market Committee
Project funding from the Labour Market Committee is directed at Nordic projects that deal with working life. The projects can, for example, include analyses, conferences or theme meetings, which help improve co-operation between the Nordic countries with reference to mutual exchange of experiences in the sector. The projects funded by the Labour Market Committee must have a Nordic aim and involve at least three Nordic countries. The Committee also looks favourably on applications that include the Faroe Islands, Greenland and Åland.

The Nordic Children's and Youth Committee (NORDBUK) awards grants for organisation and project co-operation for young people.
The Nordic Game Program - Development support
The Nordic Game Program aims to ensure an effective Nordic infrastructure for developers, producers and distributors of computer games. The programme will co-ordinate joint Nordic activities, ensure a greater exchange of information and improved industry know-how. Private Nordic companies are eligible to apply for funding.
Nordic Energy Research project funding
Nordic Energy Research (NER) supports areas of energy research that are of common interest to Nordic stakeholders and have potential for transnational research cooperation.
The Nordic-Baltic Mobility and Network Programme for Business and Industry
The Nordic-Baltic Mobility and Network Programme for Business and Industry gives financial support to different stakeholders in the fields of business and industry to carry out study visits, internships, on-the-job training or network activities. The objective of the programme is to strengthen and promote economic co-operation, entrepreneurship, regional cluster co-operation and innovation opportunities. The programme runs from 2009 - 2013 and is administered by the Nordic Council of Ministers' Office in Latvia.
Nordic-Baltic Mobility Programme for Public Administration
With an annual budget of some 270 000 Euro, the Nordic-Baltic Mobility Programme for Public Administration offers financial support to civil servants and other staff in the public sector to carry out study visits, internships, training or network activities in the region. Activities supported by the programme require the participation of a minimum of three countries, of these a minimum of one Nordic and one Baltic.
NordForsk: Stem Cell Mobility Programme
NordForsk’s mobility programme for post-doctoral stem cell researchers aims to support stem cell research within the Nordic countries. Eligible applicants are individuals with a PhD degree. Most of the research scholarships are administered by a university or a research institute. Applicants must co-operate with another university or research institute in another Nordic country, where two and a half of the three years of the project must be conducted.
Nordic Council of Ministers’ funding programme for NGOs in the Baltic Sea Region
NGOs play a prominent role in the Nordic Council of Ministers’ co-operation with the Baltic States and Northwest Russia within a number of its priority areas, such as the environment and progress towards democracy, but also as partners in building networks and cross-border co-operation in the Baltic Sea Region.
Nordic Film & TV Fund's funding scheme
The Nordic Film & TV Fund's funding scheme promotes high quality Nordic film and television.
New Nordic Food
The purpose of the New Nordic Food programme is to develop and increase the visibility of Nordic values in, for example, food culture, gastronomy, raw materials, tourism, design, health, animal welfare and business development. A minimum of three Nordic countries must be involved. Grants are only available to cover meeting costs and other direct costs, not original work, overheads, etc.
