Nordic Innovation initiates and finances activities that enhance innovation and co-operates primarily with small and medium sized companies in the Nordic region. The mission is to make it easier to develop and do business in the Nordic region without national barriers.

The climate, environment and energy, research, education, training and innovation, cross-border freedom of movement and a higher profile for the Nordic countries are areas all the Nordic governments will prioritise in future in order to face up to the challenges posed by globalisation and thus create new opportunities for the Nordic region.

Nordic Energy Research is the funding institution for energy research under the Nordic Council of Ministers – an intergovernmental body between Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Norway and Iceland.

NordForsk is a Nordic research board with responsibility for co-operation on research and researcher training in the Nordic region. The organisation focuses on research areas in which the Nordic countries are international leaders, and promotes research and researcher training of high international calibre.
