- On Wednesday 14 December Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Iceland as well as Greenland and the Faroe Islands, signed an information-exchange agreement with Uruguay. The agreement is part of the Nordic countries' joint endeavour to put a stop to tax evasion and is the continuation of a project in the formal framework of the Nordic Council of Ministers.
- New Nordic climate initiative launched at COP17 in Durban

- The Nordic countries renew their shared commitment to combat climate change with a new emissions reductions programme, The Nordic Partnership Initiative supported by the countries along with the Nordic Council of Ministers. The NPI will help Peru and Vietnam cut their greenhouse gas emissions in highly polluting sectors like waste and cement.
