Realising the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region through Nordic-European synergies in co-operation, Brussels

The Nordic Council of Ministers' co-operation with the European Commission has drawn attention to a limited knowledge of the work of the Council of Ministers in some regions in the Baltic Sea area. This could potentially prevent synergies arising between regional, Nordic and European initiatives and collaborative activities - and thus limit the possibilities for realising the objectives of the Baltic Sea Strategy. Against this background, the Council of Ministers took the initiative, in co-operation with the Informal Baltic Sea Group (IBSG) and the EU Commission's DG Regional Policy, to hold a joint seminar in Brussels on 29 June 2010.
