Finnish Presidency 2011

Finland holds the Presidency of the Nordic Council of Ministers in 2011, the main theme of which will be addressing climate change on all levels. The objective is to make the Nordic countries’ role as a strong and united front on climate issues even more visible.

Danish Presidency 2010

Nordic co-operation enjoys a solid base of popular support, which provides the Region with a strong starting point from which to face the challenges of the future. The overarching, multi-sectoral aim of the 2010 Danish Presidency will be to consolidate and develop the Nordic response to globalisation.

Icelandic Presidency 2009

Iceland will lead co-operation in the Nordic Council of Ministers in 2009 under the heading The Nordic Compass. The main direction in the Presidency will be a strong emphasis on co-operation in research and innovation, especially in energy, the climate and the environment.
