Britt Lundberg of Åland has been elected as the President of the Nordic Council for 2017.
Britt Lundberg is the leader of the Åland parliament – the lagting – and represents the Åland Centre Party. She has been a member of Åland’s parliament since 1999 and was the speaker of the house from 2011 to 2015. From 2007 to 2011 she was a minister in Åland’s regional government. Within the Nordic Council, she is the chairperson of the Centre Group.
