Britt Lundberg is the leader of the Åland parliament – the lagting – and represents the Åland Centre Party. She has been a member of Åland’s parliament since 1999 and was the speaker of the house from 2011 to 2015. From 2005 to 2011 she was a minister in Åland’s regional government. Within the Nordic Council, she is the chairperson of the Centre Group.

During her twelve-month presidency, she will work with three key topics: Nordic education, Nordic clean energy, and Nordic networks. She wants the Nordic Region to be more of a role model and peace negotiator in these turbulent times. Lundberg has also worked extensively with EU affairs and sees the potential for the Nordic Region to play an active role in EU co-operation.
