This part of norden.org is for anybody who wants to know more about Nordic treaties and agreements – members of the public, politicians, decision-makers, civil servants, the media, etc.
This part of the website includes the texts of the agreements and treaties between the Nordic countries, which are often drawn up by the eleven separate ministerial councils that make up the Council of Ministers.
It also includes other texts, e.g. declarations, which outline the future for Nordic co-operation. Most of the agreements are multilateral.
The site also publishes treaties (or links to them on other websites) containing information that makes it easier to understand the context within which Nordic co-operation operates, e.g. EEC/EU treaties, the EEA Agreement and the Schengen Agreement.
The site also includes links to the treaty law units in the Nordic countries, so that those interested in the aspects of international law that have an impact on individual countries as well as on Nordic co-operation can study them in greater detail.
The purpose of publishing agreements on norden.org is to inform.
