An important part of Confederation of Norden Associations' activities is to inform and support teachers who are teaching about the Nordic Region and the Nordic languages. The Associations also offers the possibility for schools to join the Norden Associations.
A school can register as a member of its national Norden Association for a small annual fee. The school will then receive the association's magazine or newsletter as access to teaching materials about the Region. The school members will also have the opportunity to apply for scholarships, buy discounted products etc. Contact the education officer at the Norden Association in your country for information on what a school membership means.
The Confederation of Norden Associations offers the opportunity for school classes to find a friendship class in another Nordic country. A Nordic friendship class is a wonderful opportunity to learn about the culture of another Nordic country and to learn to understand the language, as well as to make new contacts.
The classes themselves decide how they will maintain contact and what they will do together. They can, for example, write letters or emails, create a common Facebook group, act as foreign correspondents for each others' school magazines or travel and visit each other.
It costs nothing to get a Nordic friendship class. For more information contact the Norden Association in your country.
The Norden Association helps teachers who want to on Nordic training courses or go on school trips to another Nordic country. The idea is to give the teachers more knowledge of the Region and tips about teaching in a Nordic language through friendship classes, educational material and other offerings in the individual countries.
