The Nordic countries have a joint pavilion at the UN Climate negotiations in Marrakech, November 7-18, 2016, under the auspices of the Nordic Council of Ministers. The Nordic pavilion at COP22 will highlight New Nordic Climate Solutions through a series of events and activities focusing on a greener future.
This event will showcase SFP’s partnership with the Kingdom of Jordan and generate attention around the forthcoming opening of the SFP Jordan Center in Aqaba.
Since its launch at COP15 in Copenhagen, the Sahara Forest Project (SFP) has proven its value as a climate-smart solution to enabling restorative growth in low-lying desert areas. The integrated technological approach to water, energy, and food production has been tested and tried, with a fully operational SFP pilot plant in Qatar presented at COP18 in Doha. The company is now proud to announce that the SFP Jordan Center is open for business. The Launch Station, the size of four football fields, is the first step towards the realization of a commercial-scale SFP facility in Aqaba that will provide testing and demonstration of the full Sahara Forest Project value chain.
