Partnerships and networks on all levels are important in Nordic cooperation. On this page, we are happy to credit all our co-partners and content partners who have contributed to the Nordic pavilion and the Nordic theme days at COP23.

Co-Partners

Nordic Council

The Nordic Council is the official inter-parliamentary body in the Nordic Region. The Council has 87 elected members from Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden as well as from the Faroe Islands, Greenland and Åland.

The Nordic Investment Bank (NIB)

NIB provides long-term loans to projects that improve competitiveness and the environment of the Nordic-Baltic region. The Bank complements commercial lending and adds value to help ensure sustainable growth. NIB is the International Financial Institution of the Nordic and the Baltic countries. @nib

The Nordic Development Fund (NDF)

NDF is the only joint Nordic finance institution focusing exclusively on climate change and development in low-income countries. NDF flexibly uses grants and other innovative forms of support, striving to add value beyond financing through interventions with good prospects for upscaling and replication. NDF’s contributions provide vital leverage for the preparation, piloting and realisation of exploratory and transformative climate change solutions addressing current and emerging issues.

The Nordic Environment Finance Corporation (NEFCO)

NEFCO is an international finance institution established in 1990 by the five Nordic countries: Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden. NEFCO finances green growth investments and projects primarily in Russia, Ukraine, Belarus and Georgia as well as climate projects across the world. NEFCO's main focus is to generate positive environmental effects of interest to the Nordic region. @NefcoNordic

The Climate and Air Pollution Group (KOL)

The Climate and Air Pollution Group contributes to Nordic goals of limiting serious climate change and of preventing air pollution from damaging the environment or human health.

NordForsk

NordForsk provides funding for and facilitates Nordic research and research infrastructure programmes and projects. Key stakeholders comprise the national research councils, universities and other research-funding bodies. Through the financing and administration of research programmes NordForsk brings together national research groups and promotes research activities of the highest scientific quality.

Nordic Innovation

Nordic Innovation is a Nordic institution working to promote cross-border trade and innovation. Working under the auspices of the Nordic Council of Ministers, Nordic Innovation is a key player in implementing the Nordic trade, industry and innovation partnership programme.

Nordic Energy Research (NEF)

NEF is the platform for cooperative energy research and policy development under the auspices of Nordic Council of Ministers.

Nordic Forest Research (SNS)

SNS is funded by the Nordic Council of Ministers. Its main objectives are to promote research into the various functions of forests within a sustainable forestry industry, and to advise the Nordic Council of Ministers on forests and forestry research.

The Nordic Joint Committee for Agricultural and Food Research (NKJ)

NKJ is a contact and co-ordinating body between the Nordic countries' research councils and the national ministries responsible for agricultural and food research.

Climate-KIC Nordic

Climate-KIC is Europe’s largest public-private innovation partnership focused on climate change, consisting of dynamic companies, the best academic institutions and the public sector.

World Climate Summit

World Climate Ltd. (WCL) develops and facilitates large-scale collaborations and transactions between businesses, governments, investors and philanthropists for local, national and global solutions in the areas of climate change, resource efficiency and sustainability.

EAT Foundation

The EAT Foundation was co-founded by the Stordalen Foundation, the Wellcome Trust, and the Stockholm Resilience Centre. The three organizations will use their unique experience in health, science, policy and sustainability to convene experts and decision makers who can transform the way we eat.

ICOS ERIC

Integrated Carbon Observation System (ICOS) is a pan-European research infrastructure which provides harmonised and high-precision scientific data on carbon cycle and greenhouse gas budget and perturbations. ICOS Research Infrastructure is coordinated and integrated by the ICOS European Research Infrastructure Consortium (ERIC).

International Energy Agency

The IEA works to ensure reliable, affordable and clean energy for its 29 member countries and beyond. Their mission is guided by four main areas of focus: energy security, economic development, environmental awareness and engagement worldwide.

Ministry of Local Government and Modernisation Norway

The Ministry is responsible for housing policy, the Planning and Building Act, local government finances and local administration, ICT Policy and Public Sector Reform, rural and regional policy, the conduct of elections, government employer policy, Sami and minority affairs and national mapping and geodata policy.

The Nordic working group for global climate negotiations (NOAK)

The group's overarching goal is to contribute to the adoption of a global climate agreement with binding and ambitious goals.
