Theme Days

The Nordic side events at COP23 are arranged into themes. Ranging from finance to responsible consumption and production, all theme days invite to a dialogue on Nordic solutions to the global climate challenges. Visit the Nordic pavilion (D.08 in the Bonn Zone Pavilion Area) to participate!
Nordic Youth Day
Today’s youth will face the future consequences of today’s climate policies. What is the role of youth in climate action, what are their expectations and influence on climate politics, and how do we work to develop ourselves as climate-smart citizens? Join us for the Youth Day at the Nordic Pavilion on November 6th!
Nordic Responsible Consumption and Production Day
Sustainable consumption and production is one of the main challenges in reaching the Global Goals for the Nordic countries. What can we do to achieve responsible consumption and production patterns? And what is already being done? Join us for the Sustainable Consumption and Production Day at the Nordic Pavilion on November 7th.
Nordic Bioeconomy Day
What is being done in the Nordic countries to achieve sustainable use of the bio-resources and how is bioeconomy connected to the Sustainable Development Goals? Join us for the Nordic Bioeconomy Day at the Nordic Pavilion on November 8th – and let’s discuss the big questions. The Nordic Countries are unusually rich of biological resources – from the agricultural fields of Denmark to the deep Scandinavian forests to the vast North Atlantic Ocean. There was a time when our remoteness and low population density was enough to guard these bio-resources from overutilization. But that era is long gone and now we need to discuss how we can best ensure sustainable development of the bioeconomy.
Nordic Food Day
Our global food system contributes substantially to total greenhouse gas emissions. Nordic Food Policy Lab presents a positive outlook on the future of food and policies that shape it. We will create an interactive space where we will share ideas about the dynamic topic of food policy and its effects on the greater food system. You’ll meet dreamers, visionaries and enablers with different perspectives and experiences regarding the future of food policy. Join us to taste the future of food policy at Nordic Food Day on November 9th. We are pleased to co-organise the following sessions with EAT Foundation: Morning Talk: Food Can Fix It! // Food Policies on the Menu // Eat What's Worth Saving
Arctic Day
Since much of its territory, both on land and at sea, falls within the Arctic Circle, the Nordic Region is strongly involved in issues concerning this unique and harsh, but also vulnerable area. The Arctic Day at the Nordic Pavilion digs into the latest climate and energy solutions for the Arctic. Join us for the Arctic Day at the Nordic Pavilion on November 10th.
Nordic Urban and Rural Development Day
What are the links between urban and rural sustainable development and how can the these entities interact in climate action? What are the Nordic challenges and how do we solve them? Join us for the Urban and Rural Development Day at the Nordic Pavilion on November 11th.
Nordic Finance Day 1
The Nordic countries are leading financers of climate solutions worldwide, and through this - drivers of green policy measures and green financing models. During the Finance Days we'll share experiences and best cases of green financing, and climate financing in particular. Join us for the Finance Days at the Nordic Pavilion on November 13th–14th.

Nordic Energy Day
Boosting the already impressive growth in renewable energy use is necessary to help exceed the 2° target. Join us for the Nordic Energy Day at the Nordic Pavilion on November 15th.
