Who are we?
The Nordic Council of Ministers (NCM) is the official body of cooperation between the five Nordic countries: Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden, along with the three autonomous areas: Greenland, the Faroe Islands and the Aaland Islands.
In 2001 the Nordic Council of Ministers adopted the first regional sustainable development strategy in the world. Since then, a sustainabilty approach has been incorporated into all the activities of the NCM.

The Nordic Sustainable Development Strategy

The strategy is the overarching framework for the cross-sectoral work on sustainable development within the NCM. It complements the national SD strategies of the Nordic countries and serves as a basis for common input to international negotiations on sustainable development.
