Leading the world to greener economies
Taking the world lead in green growth requires the Nordic countries to cooperate, be cost effective and develop innovative environmental technologies that can be exported to the rest of the world. The joint Nordic green growth project is based on eight priorities, defined by a special task force set up by the Nordic prime ministers.

Here in Rio, in the physical heat as well as the heat of last-minute negotiations, it is hard to imagine the areas of ice and snow that make up the “cryosphere.” Yet when it comes to the challenge of sustainable development, few communities face greater challenges than the peoples living in alpine and polar areas such as the Himalayas, the Arctic, and Andes.
