Webinar: Local actions for the new Global Biodiversity framework
The global biodiversity crisis must be solved locally. Many good initiatives are already being taken today, but we must do more.
Through the UNESCO Man and the Biosphere program (MAB), work has been done for decades for a better balance between man and nature. It is imperative that we learn from these global experiences and promote for further local community-based initiatives and actions. Not least from the experience of engaging the local communities in creating even better conditions for the development of nature and society.

In a new project financed by the Nordic Working Group on Biodiversity, Nordic council of Ministers, focuse has been on how to work with the new Global Biodiversity Framework agreement in a local context.
In this webinar, we will present our work on how to translate the global agreement into local action and give some examples of how local communities in two Biosphere Reserves have engaged communities in developing the balance between mankind and nature.
We will also introduce a new guide on how to get started with establishing new Biosphere Reserves locally.
The webinar is scheduled on the International Day for Biological Diversity 2024, which has the theme "Be part of the Plan" on 22 May 2024 at 15-16.30 CET. You can participate actively in the webinar, and both ask questions and present your own examples.
Since the work is continues with a strong focus on local experiences, we are very keen to hear about your experiences and examples of how the implementation of the Global Biodiversity Framework can be accelerated locally.
