Submission of event proposals at the Nordic Pavilion
At the Nordic Pavilion we demonstrate the Nordic path to a climate neutral and socially sustainable future stemming from the Nordic Vision 2030. Please familiarize yourself with the Nordic Vision before applying.
Program
Preference for programming applications will be given to event proposals that match our themes, that have a direct link to the negotiations and that include both Nordic and international voices and perspectives.
The following dimensions are important to us as an organization and should always be considered.
- Cross-sectoral collaboration
- Youth involvement
- Gender equality
- Civil society voices
- Human rights
Please note that you might be asked to co-create your event with another applicant. We align our program with the COP29 presidency thematic program and the Nordic Vision.
After each event there will be 30 minutes pause and room for mingle and discussions ‘off stage’. We also offer the option to host receptions in the afternoon/early evenings.
If your event is chosen as part of the program at the Nordic COP29 Pavilion we will be in touch regarding content, speakers, text for program and communications. Please note that all marketing and communications including costs is the responsibility of the organiser of the individual events.
When planning and hosting an event in the Nordic Pavilion you will be expected to consider our 10 guiding principles to create sustainable and accessible events.
Streaming
We hope to make streaming available for all suitable events but this is not yet confirmed.
When involving children and young people
The Nordic Region must be the best place in the world for children and young people. Our ambition is for child rights and youth perspective to permeate all parts of the Nordic Council of Ministers' work and of Nordic societies.

Financing
The Nordic Pavilion is run and financed by the Nordic Council of Ministers, the official body for inter-governmental co-operation in the Nordic Region. The pavilion space is a communal platform for the most important and relevant climate messages shared by the Nordic Co-operation as a whole. It is free of charge to host an event at the Nordic Pavilion.
Access to COP28
The Nordic Pavilion is located in the Blue Zone. Please note that this area requires accreditation to gain access. The Blue Zone is an UNFCCC-managed site that will host formal negotiations, panel discussions and speaking events as well as the pavilion-area. The Nordic Council of Ministers cannot help with access/accreditation to the Blue Zone. We refer you to the official guidelines from UNFCCC.
