Come and build your future in Minecraft when the Danish Architecture Center and ArkDes together with the Nordic Council invites you to answer the question: What kind of architecture do you want in YOUR future? Together we will solve climate challenges such as flooding, biodiversity and increasing populations in cities and build our visions for the future in Minecraft

Practicalities:

Danish Architecture Center and ArkDes

The Radical Ocean Futures is an art-science exhibition that blends art and science. Presented by its creator, Andrew Merrie from the Stockholm Resilience Centre at Stockholm University, the exhibition shows four thought-provoking images that describe utopian and dystopian marine futures. The stunning images are designed by concept artist Simon Stålenhag.

Join this innovative and interactive eating experience to co-create the climate-smart menu of the future. Bring your friends and help design the best tasting food combinations from a list of sustainable food options in the 31T experience. The event merges technology and gastronomy to help inspire everyday, personalized climate activism through food. It brings together the engaging power of chefs, designers and artists with the creativity of everyday food heroes. The outcome of the session will inform a delicious 1.5 degree-menu.

Why don’t grownups care about climate change?” That is a question many parents most likely will be answering their children in the 2020’s, unless we as adults, role models and political leaders start to act as though we mean business when it comes to saving our planet and securing a safe future for our children. With Greta Thunberg as their trailblazer, children are starting to educate their parents and demand responsibility. Are roles changing while the poles are melting? Is climate change changing parenthood?

Host: Sara Bro (DK)

Sara Bro is a well-known Danish TV- and radio host, author and public figure, wanting to inspire other women not to be ashamed of their bodies. This year, she was a host at an event at “Ungdommens Folkemøde” 2019: a discussion with politicians and the young generation about one of the biggest questions of our time: How we solve the climate crisis.

Talkers:

Terje Håkonsen (NO)

Terje Håkonsen is a Norwegian professional snowboarder and entrepreneur. He is considered one of the most influential snowboarders in the history of the sport. He has founded both the Funkisstiftelsen, a foundation intended to initiate and inspire activities on snow for those with physical disabilities, and Greener Events, a leader in facilitating and providing advice on environmental awareness for all types of sporting and cultural events.

Anna Gedda (SE):

Anna Gedda is Head Of Sustainability at H&M. For several years in a row, her name has been on "The Most Powerful Women in Business: Social Change"- list in Sweden, including this year's list. Her goal for is for H&M only to use durable or recycled materials before 2030, be climate positive throughout the value chain before 2040 and continue to improve working conditions for factory workers.

Lena Endre (SE):

Lena Endre is one of Sweden's most popular and successful actresses. This year, she got the honorable assignment to read Lord Alfred Tennyson's poem "Nyårsklockan" at Skansen on New Year's Eve 2019. Furthermore, she is a Greenpeace Ambassador, who, among other things, has been leading the call to Protect the Antarctic.

Meet the young keynote-listeners

What is really going on in the COP25 negotiations? Are our leaders saving our planet as we speak? Have they finally received and understood the message from the worldwide school strikes? Or are bureaucracy, lack of leadership, lack of ambition and bad excuses standing in the way of initiating global initiatives that can turn the climate crisis around and create a sustainable future? We invite you to meet five youth activists, who are following the negotiations 24-7 and get their honest review.
